Chaetomorpha Algae removes phosphates and nitrates from the water . Grows with light and nutrients, Phosphate, Nitrate, and Iron. If the nutrients are lacking the chaeto doesn't grow.It is an excellent macro algae for refugiums. It is also known as Spaghetti Algae or Green Hair Algae.
